United Auto Workers (UAW) 2028 National Strike

Check out this captivating article written by former HCFANC Board Member, Jonathan Michels, and current Board Member, Will Cox.

This article takes a deep dive into how transformative this strike will be for health care reform in the United States. The president of UAW, Shawn Fain, is organizing a strike on International Workers Day, May 1, 2028, with the goal of uniting people across various sectors to advocate for a single payer system. Michels and Cox weigh in, “few issues have as much potential as health care to unite the American working class in a common struggle. The reason public goods appeal to working people is that they are based around meeting human needs and not profits. Medicare for All, for instance, would guarantee workers health care no matter what happens to their jobs.” Click the links above to read the article.
